This contest is to benefit someone very close to me who is in need of serious medical care. All proceeds go to saving this person's life and getting them the help they need. As a bonus, I have committed myself to starting a Non-Profit organization in the future where all proceeds will go to the research and prevention of obesity if we can save this woman.
Imagine this...your MOM is really sick and you don't have enough money to get her the help she needs.
This is a true story for someone very close to me.
Since she can remember, her Mom has been over weight. After the divorce from her Father, this Mom slowly fell into a deeper depression of which she would never recover. This Mom covered her pain with food, it is the only thing that seems to make her forget. Her daughters have tried everything in their power to help, but nothing sticks, she is too hurt and needs serious psychological treatment. The breaking point has come and this Mom needs help badly. The only solution available before she dies, becomes bed ridden (she already has trouble walking 100ft), or destroys her family relations is to get help through a treatment center.
Mom is just 60 years old with 2 daughters and 1.5 grandchildren (yes, one is on the way) who love her and want her to be well...they want to give her a second chance.
Alone, they can not afford the treatment and there is little to no support from other immediate family. The cost of the facility + transportation +her bills is around $25,000 for 30 days. I have offered my heart to them by creating this fundraiser to generate as much as we can to help. I will make a large personal donation as well because the story really hits home for me.
